Saturday the 4th of June the 2022 edition of Adriatica Ionica Race started from Tarvisio (Ud) and it will end on Wednesday 8th June in Ascoli Piceno.
The first stage Tarvisio-Monfalcone (169 km) crowned Christian Scaroni’s (Italian National Team) who beat Filippo Zana (Bardiani CSF) and the Spanish Raul Garcia Pierna (Kern Pharma) in a sprint action.
Scaroni is a 24-year-old rider from Brescia; among the juniors he had been the Italian road champion.
The day after, the cycling race has restarted from Castelfranco (TV). The stage dedicated to climbers of the 2022 edition of the Adriatica Ionica Race has inflamed the two-wheel audience and revolutionised the general classification.
Monte Grappa has issued the first verdicts which, although not definitive, already allow us to identify the riders who will be able to fight until the end for the success in the final classification. At 1708 meters above sea level of Cima Grappa, Natnael Tesfatsion from Eritrea (Drone Hopper) prevailed, preceding Filippo Zana (Bardiani) and Vadim Pronskiy (Astana) in a three-man sprint.
