ENV ISO 10722-1 - PROCEDURE FOR SIMULATING DAMAGE DURING INSTALLATION - INSTALLATION IN GRANULAR MATERIALS

The standard describes a test simulating the damage of a geotextile when in contact with granular materials compacted during installation.

A sample of geotextile is positioned between two layers of synthetic aggregate having a standard granulometry and hardness, and is submitted to a dynamic and cyclic load (from 5 to 900 kPa – at 1 Hz) for a certain time.

At the end of this test is checked the percentage of loss referred to the original value (index of damage) of a mechanical or hydraulic property (i.e. tensile strength or opening size) .

  1. rigid base
  2. metallic box
  3. applied load
  4. loading plate 100x200 mm
  5. sample of geotextile
  6. Standard aggregate
